When the pandemic of 2020 hit, life as we knew it changed. Suddenly, we home-schooled our children, worked from home, wore masks, fervently washed our hands and every surface that may (or may not) harbor this nasty invader to our lives. We bought hand sanitizer, gloves, masks, and everything in between in huge quantities, including tons of TP! Along with this, we were ordered to stay home and avoid contact with others for an indefinite period of time.
As the order to stay home was initiated, we obliged and prayed that our loved ones would remain safe and healthy. However, as the days turned to weeks, weeks turned in to months, and spring rolled around, our thoughts turned to the warm, summer weather ahead. We looked forward to engaging in the usual activities we enjoy – or a family vacation. Unfortunately, many of us had our vacations postponed or cancelled.
As time has gone by, restrictions are being lifted and some travel is now allowed. And with safety measures in place, some destinations are beginning to reopen – although there are many places that are not quite ready to welcome travelers back.
Many of us are absolutely itching to get away but we’re concerned about health and safety protocols. As we slowly start to venture further away from our homes, visiting family and friends that we haven’t seen in a long time is a priority. It fosters a sense of being out in the world again. In time, we will feel it is safe to venture even further from home.
Many folks, when thinking of traveling, are giving thought to land-based travel. It can be close to home or a road trip just a bit further, yet still feels like ‘home’. There are many beautiful places to visit in America that are ready for travelers to visit with thorough health and safety guidelines and protocols in place.
If traveling this year is on your mind but you’re not sure where to go, think of places where social distancing can be maintained. Think of places that are wide open with adventurous activities and beautiful landscapes along with fresh air. Ideas that come to my mind are the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park, Yellowstone National Park, or even Acadia National Park in the beautiful New England state of Maine. There are many, many others.
If you’re not quite ready to travel this year, one option is to plan and book an epic vacation for next year. There are so many awesome deals right now for every type of traveler with many hotels, resorts, and cruise lines offering free cancellation up to two or three days before travel! With all the super deals out there, why not get the whole family together and plan for a fabulous vacation, perhaps to Atlantis Paradise in the Bahamas, to celebrate events that couldn’t be done as a family this year? How about that girls’ getaway that had to be cancelled? Now is the time to take advantage of great offers and book that trip for a later date in Aruba, Jamaica (oooh I wanna take ya – you know you sang that in your mind!) For the guys, how about an awesome stay in the Bahamas for some out-of-this-world, world class fishing or golf? Now is the time to grab the deals on a future trip!
We know you want to travel and we also know that you want to make sure you’re safe. We completely understand being hesitant to do so. With that said, however, in order to get travelers back, destinations are stepping up their health and safety protocols and providing some excellent deals as we just mentioned.
When you are ready to take that step toward a memorable vacation (even if you are just thinking about a vacation), give us a call or email us. We’ll schedule a free consultation and work through your ideas and questions with you and depending on what you’re looking for, we’ll impart some of our ideas as well! We’ll work with you to find the best destination and we’ll build an itinerary so you get the most of what you want in a vacation. Before you know it, you will be on your way!
